Bridgend’s Hospital Radio formally known as Bridgend League of Friends Hospital Radio (BLFR) has been an integral and useful addition to the Princess of Wales for many years, from the days of vinyl 1983 up to today’s digital age.
Our mission at Bridgend’s Hospital Radio is to provide comfort, entertainment, and a connection to the community for patients, staff, and visitors through personalised and diverse programming. We strive to uplift spirits, inspire hope, and bring joy to all those we serve with professionalism, passion, and compassion

Wayne joined the station 30 years ago, and our current Station Manager, taking over the helm in 2013.
He is our resident 70's and 80's Guru.. so if you love music from the 70's and 80's Wayne's show is the one for you! You can hear Wayne on your radios every Sunday morning 9am - 11am!

Bill Everatt took Bridgend Hospital Radio on air in 1983, and now after forty years, Bill is back presenting our weekday breakfast show from 6 to 9am.
Bill has also worked extensively in commercial radio in both this country and abroad as a presenter, producer and engineer. And has now returned to the place where it all started.

Julie is one our Trustees and Request Collectors. Julie is our funding expert and is responsible for applying for funding for the station. And to be fair, she's extremely good at it! You will see Julie around the wards collecting requests. Say Hi! if you see her.

Arthur is our longest serving volunteer with over 30 years under his belt at the station! You can catch Arthur's show every Thursday 19:00 - 20:00 on BHR.

Owain has a big passion for local music and he loves to bring local music to his show. You can catch Owain every Saturday 4pm - 6pm!

Stewart joined us in 2023. You can catch him every Monday 13:00 - 15:00.

Jim joined us in 2023. You can catch Jim at various points during the week. He's also the voice of weekend breakfast!

Dave is a hospital radio legend here in South Wales racking up plenty of experience from just about every hospital radio station in Wales. He's currently on loan to us from Merthyr Hospital Radio due to maintenance works (and between us, we're hoping he stays here when Merthyr begins broadcasting again) ... You can hear Dave Tuesday's 20:00 - 22:00!

Megan is our youngest member and joined us in 2025. Passionate about rock music, its rare to find such a young person who has such a comprehensive music knowledge and interest in music from even long before her parents were born! Megan presents her Rock Show every Wednesday 20:00 - 22:00!

This is Reggae Ray Browne. His parents come from the sunshine island of St Vincent in the Caribbean.
Ray has always had a love for music from a small child growing up listening to early Reggae and Calypso artists. Ray says "Life can be brutal and hard, my aim is to spread a peaceful vibe and put a smile on your face through Reggae music".
Tune into Reggae Ray every Friday 20:00 - 22:00. Feel the rhythm, feel the vibe, and let Reggae Ray light up your day!
