In a solemn turn of events, the BHR community mourns the loss of one of its cherished members, Alan Butler, who succumbed to Motor Neuron Disease on February 6th, 2024. Born in 1953, Alan’s dedication and passion for enriching the lives of patients through the airwaves will forever be remembered.
Alan Butler, a familiar face among hospital radio volunteers, devoted his time and energy to brightening the days of patients with his cheerful voice and uplifting music selections. His commitment to providing comfort and solace to those undergoing medical treatment was unwavering.
Despite battling with MND, Alan remained steadfast in his commitment to his volunteer work, inspiring others with his resilience and unwavering spirit. His presence in the hospital radio station was a source of joy and optimism for both patients and fellow volunteers alike.
Throughout his tenure, Alan Butler’s warm personality and genuine compassion touched the lives of many. His dedication to serving the community through the power of music and companionship left an indelible mark on the hearts of those he encountered.
Alan Butler’s contributions to BHR Wales will forever be cherished, and his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched during his time as a dedicated volunteer.
